Raina (she/they) is an Arizona-based actress who has been ambitiously working to become a part of the professional musical theatre business since she was very young; she has always known she wanted to be involved in the musical theatre industry since she presented her very first audition at age seven. With perfect pitch and synesthesia (tone-color and auditory-tactile), she experiences music, sounds, and voices as physical feelings and vivid color, allowing her to intuitively match pitch and tone while also infusing performances with a unique, sensory-driven emotional depth. Performing has always made Raina feel joy and excitement, and has been a very impactful way to help her express her thoughts, feelings, and emotions comfortably. She is a driven and passionate actress with a relentless determination to carve out her place on Broadway's illustrious stage. Raina's journey in performing arts has been driven by dedication and a relentless pursuit of perfection. On May 9th, 2025, Raina graduated from Chandler-Gilbert Community College with her Associate in Arts, Fine Arts, Emphasis in Musical Theatre.
Raina has participated in numerous productions, including Little Women (Meg March / Clarissa), Lucky Stiff (Dominique du Monaco – Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship KCACTF Region 8 Nominee), Beauty and the Beast (Madame de la Grande Bouche), and the short film Variant Z-2 (Lead – 138K views on YouTube). She has had the privilege of studying and performing Musical Theatre in Arizona, California, and New York. In 2024, Raina was nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship for her role in Lucky Stiff, which led her to compete at the KCACTF Region 8 Festival in Glendale, California. While there, she was also cast in the world premiere staged reading of the ten-minute play 5 Dates, part of the KCACTF National Playwriting Program, originating the role of Macy. Raina received professional training at the Open Jar Institute in New York City, where she worked one-on-one intensively with Broadway artists including Correy West, Jeff Whiting, Judine Somerville, and five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. She went on to win the Classical Treble category in the 2025 Arizona Artists of Promise Vocal Competition, where she won $500, and also received the Albert and Lola Chatinsky Scholarship, further fueling her passion for vocal performance and musical storytelling.
When Raina auditions for a part, she thoroughly researches the part she feels the most connected to or could accurately portray and what the production is about; she takes vocal lessons specifically for that part and spends much of her free time practicing. When taking on a role, Raina meticulously cares about the part and strives to portray the character appropriately while finding a way to make the role authentically her own. She aims to inspire and evoke emotions that audiences resonate with, whether lighthearted or solemn.
